Mounting, Lamination & Presentation Services

We offer a wide range of options for the presentation of your final prints. Materials include archival Foamcore, Gatorboard or Gatorfoam, Sintra, Dibond, Aluminum and fine Plywood.

We can install a floating cleated box frame to the back of the mounted print if your final pieces will be hung directly onto the wall. We love custom jobs, so if there is a service or substrate you do not see listed here, please get in touch for a custom tailored estimate for your project.

Turnaround

Normal turnaround is 2 weeks. Please Note: While we always try to return your job ASAP, actual turnaround time depends upon quantity, sizes, and current work in house. Please call for scheduling if your job or project requires a quicker turnaround. Rush services are available.

Please call 415-558-9113 or fill out the general estimate form with your job details for pricing on mounting services.

Mounting Materials

Archival Foamcore

Excellent for prints that need a backing before going into frames. Foamcore is an economical acid free solution for mounting. Because Foamcore tends to have a curl or bow to the material, as well as being a soft material, we do not recommend using this for prints that will not be installed in a frame. Foamcore is available in 1/8" and 3/16".

4-ply Museum Board

An excellent option for prints that need a backing before going into frames and is one of the first choices for framers, museums and collectors. We do not recommend using Museum Board for prints that will not be installed in a frame. Museum Board is available in 4-ply white.

Gatorfoam

Similar to Foamcore, but much more rigid. Gatorfoam is comprised of extruded polystyrene foam bonded between two layers of wood-fiber veneer. It is suitable for shorter term displays because of it's rigid characteristics. Gatorfoam comes in 3/18" and 1/2" white or black.

Sintra

This is more of a rigid plastic/PVC based product that has a fairly smooth and durable surface. Sintra comes in 3mm and 6mm white or black. Additional colors are available for custom order.

Dibond

A very popular 3mm aluminum composite material made up of two pre-painted sheets of thin aluminum with a solid black polyethylene core. One of the flattest panels on the market, this material won't bow over time, provides excellent durability and weighs less than aluminum panel. This is definitely the high end mounting option when the surface needs to be smooth and rigid.

Aluminum

A thin and sturdy mounting substrate that has a wonderful gallery feel to it. Using Aluminum provides a very polished look to the final presentation of an image.

Plywood

We use 1/2" Birch plywood, trimmed precisely with a fine tooth blade for an excellent edge finish. Plywood has it's own unique feel as a mounting substrate that sets it apart from other options.

acrylic

A premium mounting material used for face-mounting prints, we offer both standard acrylic in 1/8" and 1/4" as well as 1/8" non-glare. For face-mounting, we recommend using a suitable backing material such as Dibond or Sintra to protect the back of the print. We also recommend installing a recessed box frame on the back with a cleat for a frameless presentation. Prints mounted behind Acrylic are simply gorgeous!
